Chapter One: The Mission

Jack was relaxing in his room with the air conditioner on full blast. It was a scorching hot summer day. Jack checked the thermometer and it read 37 degrees centigrade.

Jack was just about to eat an icy-pole when his phone rang. It was a message about his next task. Jack had been waiting for the task all day long. The massage contained an image of a really hot desert. Apparently, it was called Death Valley.

Jack didn’t know much about Death Valley apart from the fact that the temperatures could get up to 134 degrees Celsius. Despite the fact that he did not know much about Death Valley, he was very interested. He had heard rumours saying that you could die from the intense heat.

Jack got his desert equipment such as masks, lots of water, food, leather pouches for storing water, knives, three pairs of shoes and much more things that could protect him from the raging desert.

Immediately, Jack set off for Death Valley in his land rover. He remembered to bring his camera on his way out and drove out of his huge garage.

He drove quickly taking shortcuts and not attracting too much attention. Of course, his car looked really cool and polished but apart from that, he looked normal.

Jack arrived at a base that was close to Death Valley. He could already feel the cool air fading and the hot wind reaching its way up his body. Beads of sweats trickled down his face. He put on his gear and set off for the rocky cliffs of Death Valley.

Chapter Two: Death Valley

In Death Valley, sand bit into his flesh. His eyes stung as if someone had poured vinegar into them. The thick layer of sand that surrounded him.

Luckily, Jack was used to things like this from his trip to the Amazon Rainforest and the Bermuda Triangle. Jack kept on walking feeling his way through the sand storm.

Suddenly, the sand cleared revealing the bright blinding sun. Unfortunately, that meant he would be able to feel the intense heat of the sun.

Jack drank half a bottle of water. He still felt dehydrated but he didn’t drink any more. He knew that he would waste his entire supply of water before he got back to the base.

Jack realised that the trip would not only be hard and challenging, but it could be full of fun. Jack grabbed a board and run up a sand hill. He slid down on the smooth sand to the other end. It turned out that it was fun and efficient.

Jack repeated the move lots of times trying out even more such as jumps and turns. Once, he even made a ramp of stones and jumped of the ramp.

Jack started to see things. He struggled to make himself think that he was only hallucinating and that was how he stayed alive.

Jack saw ghosts and the spirits of the people who had died at Death Valley. He kept on going knowing that giving up would result as him losing his life.

Jack walked and walked. His lips were parched and cracked. He was sun burnt and sweating a lot. Jack drank the rest of the bottle that he had already drank out of.

The water gave him hope. He reached the rocky cliff which was the place where he could turn around and go back to base. He left a mini flag with his name on it.

Chapter Three: Back to Base

Jack turned around and slowly trudged back. Jack knew that a sand storm was about to start so he drank three-quarters of a bottle.

As he closed the lid, the sand at his feet started to lightly lift. It gradually got worse and worse. The sand started to scratch his skin leaving marks where they had hit.

Jack kept going. He guessed the direction using his retracing skills. He slowly moved feeling the region ahead of him with his foot.

The sandstorm cleared and Jack slowly and cautiously opened his eyes. He could see the base ahead. He drank the rest of the new bottle.

He reached the base and collapsed. He stopped the video as everyone cheered. He was so happy, that tears of joy flooded out of his eyes.

Jack was paid a lot of money and the video became one of the most popular in the world. He bought a new car- The Veneno 2.
